{"id":5892,"date":"2013-08-30T09:18:44","date_gmt":"2013-08-30T09:18:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.imf-formacion.com\/blog\/corporativo\/?p=5892"},"modified":"2020-06-22T13:12:13","modified_gmt":"2020-06-22T11:12:13","slug":"la-importancia-de-un-gesto-sencillo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.imf-formacion.com\/blog\/corporativo\/comunidad-imf\/la-importancia-de-un-gesto-sencillo\/","title":{"rendered":"La importancia de un gesto sencillo"},"content":{"rendered":"<input type=\"hidden\" value=\"\" data-essbisPostContainer=\"\" data-essbisPostUrl=\"https:\/\/blogs.imf-formacion.com\/blog\/corporativo\/comunidad-imf\/la-importancia-de-un-gesto-sencillo\/\" data-essbisPostTitle=\"La importancia de un gesto sencillo\" data-essbisHoverContainer=\"\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.imf-formacion.com\/blog\/corporativo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/foto.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-5902\" alt=\"Cristina Rodriguez\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.imf-formacion.com\/blog\/corporativo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/foto-233x300.jpg\" width=\"233\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.imf-formacion.com\/blog\/corporativo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/foto-233x300.jpg 233w, https:\/\/blogs.imf-formacion.com\/blog\/corporativo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/foto.jpg 285w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 233px) 100vw, 233px\" \/><\/a>Para cerrar la semana os invitamos a leer un art\u00edculo sobre la importancia de la higiene de manos en los centros sanitarios, escrito por <strong>Cristina Rodr\u00edguez Rieiro,<\/strong> especialista en Medicina Preventiva y Salud P\u00fablica, Doctora en Epidemiologia y Salud P\u00fablica, consultora independiente, colaborando con el Hospital Gregorio Mara\u00f1\u00f3n, con IMF Business School en el \u00e1rea de Gesti\u00f3n Sanitaria, con la Subdirecci\u00f3n general de tecnolog\u00edas e innovaci\u00f3n sanitaria de la Consejer\u00eda de Sanidad de la Comunidad de Madrid y con la Universidad Complutense de Madrid, y colaboradora honor\u00edfica como docente de la Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, con experiencia docente tambi\u00e9n en la Universidad de Alcal\u00e1 y en la Consejer\u00eda de Educaci\u00f3n (Madrid).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Desde&nbsp;<strong>IMF Business School<\/strong> le agradecemos su colaboraci\u00f3n &nbsp;y os animamos a leer sus interesantes rese\u00f1as en materia de sanidad y salud p\u00fablica.<\/p>\n<p>En los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os han aparecido en los distintos medios de comunicaci\u00f3n noticias relacionadas con fallecimientos de pacientes con infecciones relacionadas con la asistencia sanitaria causada por microorganismos resistentes a m\u00faltiples antibi\u00f3ticos.<\/p>\n<p>Seg\u00fan el \u00faltimo estudio EPINE del a\u00f1o 2012, realizado en 271 hospitales espa\u00f1oles, el 7,61% de los pacientes ingresados ten\u00edan en el momento del estudio una infecci\u00f3n relacionada con la atenci\u00f3n sanitaria; esto es, una infecci\u00f3n que se produce en un paciente durante el proceso de atenci\u00f3n en un hospital u otro centro sanitario y que no estaba presente, o no se estaba incubando, en el momento del ingreso.<\/p>\n<p>Si bien existen diversos factores que hacen que aumente la vulnerabilidad de los pacientes a contraer infecciones durante su estancia hospitalaria, como es la edad, la cantidad de procedimientos invasivos, la estancia hospitalaria, el empleo cada vez mayor de antibi\u00f3ticos, etc., no se puede olvidar el papel fundamental que tienen las manos, especialmente las del personal sanitario, como mecanismo transmisor y propagador de microorganismos.<\/p>\n<p>La Organizaci\u00f3n Mundial de la Salud, consciente del problema sanitario, social y econ\u00f3mico que genera este hecho en todo el mundo, lanz\u00f3 en el a\u00f1o 2004 la Alianza Mundial para la Seguridad del Paciente, en la que se enfatizaba la importancia de controlar las infecciones hospitalarias dentro de su iniciativa \u201cUna atenci\u00f3n limpia es una atenci\u00f3n m\u00e1s segura\u201d. Tal y como indica la OMS, un gesto tan sencillo como realizar correctamente el lavado de las manos en el momento apropiado al atender a un paciente, constituye una eficaz herramienta para evitar y frenar la propagaci\u00f3n de g\u00e9rmenes entre pacientes hospitalizados. Es por ello que cada a\u00f1o se celebra el 5 de mayo el d\u00eda internacional de la higiene de manos, con el objeto de concienciar y recordar al personal sanitario la importancia de realizar esta pr\u00e1ctica, ya que los datos obtenidos a trav\u00e9s de distintos estudios observacionales indican que el cumplimiento de esta pr\u00e1ctica dista de ser \u00f3ptima (por ejemplo, seg\u00fan un estudio de la OMS realizado en 2010, antes de tocar a un paciente se realiz\u00f3 higiene de manos solamente en la mitad de las ocasiones).<\/p>\n<p>Es necesario recordar una vez m\u00e1s la importancia de poner en pr\u00e1ctica medidas tan sencillas y costo efectivas como las pr\u00e1cticas de higiene de manos, recalcando el compromiso que d\u00eda a d\u00eda establecen los profesionales sanitarios en aras de ofrecer una atenci\u00f3n sanitaria segura a sus pacientes.<\/p>\n<p><!--[if gte mso
